whisky quartz on boulder with prongs – 18.5 carat
This pale version of a Smoky Quartz goes by the name of Whisky Quartz, because of it’s rich, golden colour. This is a marquise cut gemstone – 18.5 carats.
I started with a sheet of Argentium silver that I melted the edges, and then added melted silver to thicken up the ‘Boulder’ edges. I cut out the base for the stone and added prongs to secure it in place. The cut-out allows all the light to reach the stone for maximum sparkle.
Pendant is 5.3 cm long by 2.5 cm wide. The weight is 10.7 grams.

Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with a silver content of 935. It has the unique feature of having a small amount of Germanium added. Argentium Silver is whiter, harder and slower to tarnish. And it is always nickel-free.
