tanzanite ring – size 8.5 – Argentium silver boulder band – 9 carat
tanzanite – size 8.5 – boulder design ring.
This is a cabochon cut, 9 carat, oval Tanzanite. Set on a Boulder design ring.
I make large silver boulders and fused them together to form a wide Boulder design band. I start with Argentium silver circles, and lay them out on my soldering board. Fuse them together and then add more silver ‘boulders’, fuse them in place. I like to add a frame edge to smooth out the ring design. Clean up the ends, and bend the flat boulders into a ring band. Fuse the ends for a strong, permanent bond. I make the bezel to exactly fit the gemstone and solder this in place. Lots of polishing and cleaning, and then heat is applied to set the Argentium. Finally the ring is ready for the gemstone to be set.
This ring is a size 8.5
The front is 1.9 cm wide and the back is 0.7 cm wide.
The weight is 10.0 grams.
