Smoky Quartz and Red Topaz in wind design ring
For the wind design I created ribbons of Argentium silver waving in the wind, then added accent gemstones. This ring has a 1 carat Smoky Quartz and a .5 carat Red Topaz.
This ring is a size 11.5
The front of the ring is 1.8 cm wide and the back is 0.6 cm wide.
For the wind design I created ribbons of Argentium silver waving in the wind, then added accent gemstones. I start with square Argentium silver wire, which I bend into silver waves. I fuse them together, clean up the ends and bend them into a ring. With lots of adjustments and polishing the band is now ready for the bezels to be added.
For each gemstone I carefully make a bezel to perfectly fit the stone. The bezel is soldered in place in the ring. Now it is time to polish the ring to perfection. Argentium silver has one extra step – the silver must be ‘baked’ to bring the Germanium to the surface. This makes the silver tarnish slower, as well as being whiter and harder than traditional Sterling silver.

Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with a silver content of 94% (Sterling is 92.5%). It has the unique feature of having a small amount of Germanium added. Argentium Silver is whiter, harder and slower to tarnish. And it is always nickel-free.
