lunar and sun – Argentium silver – antique
The ‘Lunar’ design is one of my favourite textures. It is hand made every time – not cast – so no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
I melt the Argentium Silver and when it is just the right temperature, I shape it with a pic to resemble the surface of the Moon. This is followed by lots of filing and polishing until a perfect Lunar texture is created. For this piece I shaped a circle of Argentium silver for the Sun base, and then soldered the Lunar textured panel to the hollow Sun. I attached a large Bail for this pendant so it can easily be worn on a heavier chain, a leather thong, or even a collar.
Pendant is 3.2 cm long by 2.7 cm wide.
The weight is 6.7 grams.

Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with a silver content of 940. It has the unique feature of having a small amount of Germanium added. Argentium Silver is whiter, harder and slower to tarnish. And it is always nickel-free.
The antique finish is permanent and it never needs polishing.
