edelweiss on melted boulder – antique finish
I make the design by cutting and shaping Argentium Silver into an Edelweiss flower. Then I carefully solder this silver flower to a melted Argentium boulder that I have prepared.
The German word ‘Edelweiss’ or ‘Edelweiß’ is a combination of ‘edel’ which means noble, and ‘weiß’ which means white. The edelweiss bloom carries a meaning of devotion. The symbolism of devotion derives from the fact that the edelweiss flower grows in some of the toughest alpine conditions in the world.
Pendant is 4.1 cm long by 3.0 cm wide. The pendant weights 14.3 grams.

Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with a silver content of 935. It has the unique feature of having a small amount of Germanium added. Argentium Silver is whiter, harder and slower to tarnish. And it is always nickel-free.
The antique finish is permanent and it never needs polishing.
This pendant is on a 20″ Sterling silver bead chain – with an antique finish.
