Black star diopside on half dome band
This is a Black Star Diopside – which is the black version of a Star Sapphire. It is a large oval, 16 carat cabochon. I have set it in a bezel mounting and then added a wide half-dome band. As a little added interest, I allowed the band to come up the sides of the gemstone – for an architectural look. All handmade – all Argentium silver.
The ring size is 8.25.
The front is 1.7 cm wide and the back is 0.6 cm wide. The rings weight is 9.8 grams.

Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with a silver content of 935. It has the unique feature of having a small amount of Germanium added. Argentium Silver is whiter, harder and slower to tarnish. And it is always nickel-free.
