First I made a cut a wide band from a heavy sheet of argentium silver – then I melted the edges – made it into a ring – and then hammered it until I liked how casual and textured it looked. For this beautiful 7.5 carat London blue topaz I wanted to use a prong setting to let the light really sparkle the stone. This ring is a size 9 – wide band – the front of the ring is 1.66 cm wide and the back of the band is 1.2 cm wide.
Although missing the waves and rocks of the traditional water design – this ring still felt very liquid to me – the melted edges always feels like water.
WATER * I Change * FLOWING FORMLESSNESS – Transformative – Playful – Balance – Passionate
Argentium Silver is a high quality silver with germanium added. Argentium silver is whiter, harder, slower to tarnish, purer (nickel-free) and has a higher silver content of 935 (sterling is 925)
This is a one-of-a kind ring – the only one I have made so far.
